Q: Is St. Cornelius School accredited?
A: St. Cornelius is fully accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) through 2016.
Q: Is it true that St. Cornelius School offers free before and after school care for its students?
A: We do offer extended care before school from 6:30- 7:55 and after school from 3-6pm. Our students receive nutritious snacks, tutoring, and homework help. Additional enrichment classes are also offered. Our academic programs help our students meet standards in such core subjects as reading, math, technology, the arts, and physical education. In addition, we offer parent education classes.
Q: Do students have to wear a uniform?
A: All ST. CORNELIUS CATHOLIC SCHOOL students are required to wear uniforms which are purchased from DENNIS UNIFORMS.
Q: How do St. Cornelius School's test scores compare with other schools?
A: There are no scores published by schools in the Diocese of Oakland. Catholic schools do not use the same type of test, nor are the results used in the same way as public schools. The high schools that our graduates attend have told us that our students score well on their entrance tests, and many qualify for honors programs.

A: Tuition is $5000 for one child. Multiple children discounts as well as generous financial aid are available.
Q: Do you have to be Catholic?
A: No, you do not need to be Catholic to attend St. Cornelius. We welcome people of all faiths.

A: Class sizes average 20-25 students per class. Small group instruction is a standard practice for our teachers each day.

A: St. Cornelius School follows the Diocese of Oakland guidelines and Common Core State Standards with additional enhancements.

A: Technology is an integral part of classroom teaching and learning. It is also used for student record management and communications. We have 2 laptop carts with a total of 26 laptops, an Ipad Cart with 15 ipads, as well as a Multi-Media Center with 25 Desktop Computers.
Q: Do ST. CORNELIUS students receive their sacramental preparation at school?
A: Sacramental preparation is part of our curriculum at St. Cornelius Catholic School. Second graders receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion and the sacrament of Reconciliation after preparation during religion classes at school, parent meetings, and retreats.
Q: Are volunteer hours required of parents or students?
A: We do require 36 volunteers hours per school year per family (12 hours/trimester). We like parents to attend meetings and be involved in our fundraising efforts. There are many opportunities to volunteer.
